Online or in person valuation? Both Available
Swift Values provides classic motorbike probate valuations online or in person. Most classic motorcycles, scooters and mopeds can be valued accurately from photographs, saving the estate time and money.
What counts as a classic? We class any motorbike built before 2000 as a classic. Records for older bikes are much patchier, so our valuers cross-check more sources to reach a reliable figure. If the bike was built in 2000 or later, our standard motorbike probate valuation is the right service.

Online Valuation – £99
The best option for most estates. A qualified valuer personally assesses the images and details you provide. Photograph the bike using our guide, share the registration, mileage and any known history, and receive a full HMRC-compliant valuation within 2–3 days.
In-Person Valuation – from £298
For exceptional motorbikes where condition, originality and provenance materially affect value at the highest level; rare classic motorcycles, important racing bikes, concours examples, significant collections or bikes with specialist restoration history.

Fair use policy
Is there a limit to what’s covered in our fee?
No. Our £99 fee covers a full valuation and report for the classic motorbike you submit. Last year, 99% of our valuations were completed at the headline price and needed no further research.
In the 1% of cases that need more work, the only thing that changes is how precise the figure is. With vehicles, the higher the value, the more is riding on the figure and the more work it takes to pin it down. If a bike turns out to be a rare pre-war machine or has racing history, we’ll still value it for £99, but the initial valuation may need to be expressed as a wider range, for example, £40,000 to £90,000. That gives you a reliable indication of where the bike sits in the market, but narrowing it further may require more detailed research into its history, originality and provenance, comparable auction results or an inspection in person.
If the estate is comfortably below the inheritance tax threshold, a wider range usually makes no practical difference. You can use the top figure and move on. If inheritance tax is due, a narrower figure can make a big difference. For example, further research might narrow a range of £40,000 to £90,000 down to £60,000. Using £60,000 rather than the £90,000 top figure takes £30,000 off the value of the estate, and at 40% inheritance tax that means £12,000 less tax to pay. Our valuer will explain what would be needed to narrow the figure down and what that would cost. You can then decide whether to go ahead. Nothing extra happens without your agreement.
